[Well, it's not like he can blame him, especially considering how they met, so he cuts more of his crepe, trying to wrap some of it around a large strawberry.]

In any event, I've been saving material from the classes we share for you.

[Hmm. Well, Minato is difficult. Prying will only annoy him, though. Even outright care and concern tends to be met with dodging at best. That's the tricky part. He has to get him to open up without evading it all.

Well. He does have an idea. But if he did that, he needs to get Minato alone. It would already be something a little mean. He knows he would be mad at someone who did that to him, even if it was out of concern. So should he not do it? He doesn't want to betray Minato's trust. But he really is worried about him. Minato already felt like he didn't have much left and he said he doesn't have hope and now their mission was a tepid success and he really just wants his friend to be okay.

Fuck.]

It's not a problem. I can give them to you on the way back if you don't mind dropping by my room. Well, after you eat of course but it's no rush on my part.

[Well, fuck. He's not committing to it just yet but he can feel himself laying out the plans for it. Ah, where is Qrow when he needs moral guidance?]
grakraka: (pari passu)

[personal profile] grakraka 2019-03-29 06:37 am (UTC)(link)
[All of those thoughts are shelved for a moment as he pauses, eyes wide.]

Yes. Of course. [That was a bit too hasty, fuck.] I would... really love that.
grakraka: (donatio mortis causa)

[As they eat, Akechi fills the silence with idle sorts of chitchat, mostly things Minato can just listen to rather than reply with, since he figures he would rather focus on eating. When he finally finishes, though, Akechi asks him to wait a moment. He goes back to the counter and grabs a mug of fountain coffee for himself as well as a mug of special tea for Minato.

All right. Here it goes. If he doesn't want it or doesn't drink it, then that's that. And if he does, well, he'll apologise to him as much as possible and promise to never do it again. He'll even drink some and let him ask anything he wants. Well, not like it prevents you from lying. He thinks? Fuck. He should have looked at that. Something that just makes someone chatty is way more ethical than that. Ah fuck.

Well too late he is already back.]

I wanted some coffee. Do you want this tea? It won't be wasted, so don't worry.

[Okay there. Perfect. That should allow for consent. Some form of consent. Dubious consent?]
grakraka: (nec vi nec clam nec precario)

[personal profile] grakraka 2019-03-30 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
[Well. That is that. He has drank the tea. Now there is no going back. Whatever doubts he had must be cast aside so that he can fully commit to this and go through it well to the best of his abilities. It's the only right option now. He will take care to make sure the experience isn't terrible for Minato.

Now that he's drinking it, he's grateful they're so close to his room, since he ushers him inside, hoping it won't kick in before the door shuts.

But now he has to test it. It should make him chatty, right? He really can't imagine that. Well, it's not like Minato has blank nothingness in his head. He has thoughts, he just doesn't voice them. Probably.

So, a softball should suffice. Akechi starts looking through his things for the notes. Mary the Haunted Doll takes that chance to escape from his bag and he sighs as he starts to wrestle her back in.]

I'm sure you've missed classes, hm?
grakraka: (nunc pro tunc)

[personal profile] grakraka 2019-03-30 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
[Even though he gave him the tea, a look of genuine surprise crosses his face, Mary escaping his grasp. Well. That is not what he expected but sure. He'll go with it.]

Ah, yes. She is, unfortunately, a haunted doll so it's not surprise that she looks somewhat... gruesome.

[He has no idea if shittalking his doll is a good idea so he tries to avoid it but oh well. He goes back to trying to wrangle her.]

I'm surprised you don't like your classes, though.
grakraka: (contra bonos mores)

[personal profile] grakraka 2019-03-30 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
[Akechi shoves her down into the bag and ties it back up as he listens to his words. As he suspected, they feel the same thing in the end. Just because he had 'hope' that drove him to keep trying doesn't negate the emptiness, the exhaustion, the listless moments spacing out. While Akechi hasn't drank that tea, he does think he should try to follow a similar rhythm in conversation for now.]

I remember once, in frustration with myself, searching the internet for that feeling. And when I found something that described my feelings, I actually became more angry over it. Sure, something was wrong with me, but not like that. That was just... shameful.

[Right. Get to the point for him.] I say this because I understand what you're trying to describe. It's empty and faraway and you lose hours to nothing and in the morning it feels like moving a mountain would be easier than getting up. Something like that?
grakraka: (dictum)

[personal profile] grakraka 2019-03-30 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Akechi flashes a smile at him.]

You don't have to feel anything about it. Or if you don't have anything grateful to say, that's fine. [He wasn't lying about having class material for Minato, though, so he does set that on the table.] I did say I would accept you as my friend regardless of what you view as your downfalls. And I still mean that. You're... well, depressed. You don't have to push yourself in those ways at least.
grakraka: (transactio)

[personal profile] grakraka 2019-03-31 03:12 am (UTC)(link)
[There is a lot to unpack in all of that and Akechi would, except Minato happened to wander his way over to the source of his current troubles. Well. That was inevitable, really, but he had been hoping to talk to him more before then. A guilty look flashes over his face before he composes himself, though he can't help grimacing still somewhat.]

My apologies for betraying your trust but I was... well... [Might as well be honest now.] I've been worried about you. You weren't coming to class and I know you've been rightfully depressed over everything that happened to your world, so I was worried the mission had made things worse. Don't worry. All it does is make you talk more than normal. It isn't some truth-telling sort of thing.

[He thinks. Again, he needs to doublecheck that later but right now he sounds absolutely certain of it.]
grakraka: (non est factum)

[personal profile] grakraka 2019-03-31 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
[What the fuck did he just say? Well.

Actually he's not used to Minato talking this much. It's surprisingly hard to respond.]

No, it wasn't a spell and I don't have detective super powers, unless you count getting blackmail information out of Shadows? But I can't do that anymore obviously. No, it was just the tea. [Pause.] Though yes, I suppose it would be hard to study and talk at the same time. My apologies for that one. Did you say a police officer sold you weapons?
grakraka: (ad infinitum)

[personal profile] grakraka 2019-04-02 10:33 am (UTC)(link)
Ahh... Yes, I am an asshole sometimes. I'm sorry. As I said, I was worried about you and wanted you to talk to me about you, ah, well, your feelings. But I think you're funny?

[A beat.]

Well. It is a very dry humour that I'm getting used to but really all that matters is that you entertain yourself.
grakraka: (nec vi nec clam nec precario)

[personal profile] grakraka 2019-04-04 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
[Did Minato just call him tiring or his way of talking tiring?? Both are bad. Sigh.]

It was fun. [Being overleveled was great.] But ah, at least in the Metaverse, people often had Shadow versions of themselves. Consider them something like what we saw in the caverns on the last mission. I could interrogate them for information on facts they were hiding, like if they were extorting money or seeing an underage girl or assisting in drug trafficking or anything like that, then I brought the information to Shido so he could blackmail them. Shadows have no filter as a general rule so it wasn't hard to even find ways of getting proof.
